Transition from high (1) to Dow (0) at control port of microprocessor energizes brake solenoid of paper-tape, reader in pulses lasting several microseconds, with time determined by size of capacitor used. Energizing of solenoid squeezes tape between top of solenoid and flat iron brake shoe that is attracted by solenoid. Unmarked resistor is 1K.-D.
