Factory-matched FETs are connected in resistance bridge that is balanced by 814 to make meter read zero for 0-V input voltage. Voltage divider provides eight ranges, using 1% resistors for accuracy. Some must be made up by using two or more resistors in series. Balanced circuit has very low temperature drift, reducing number of times rebalancing is needed.-R. P. Turner, FET Circuits, Howard VV.
