AIC1721/1721D General Description
The AIC1721/1721D is the enhanced CMOSversion of the LP2950. The superiorcharacteristics of the AIC1721/1721D includezero base current loss, very low dropout voltage,and 1% accuracy output voltage. Typica-l groundcurrent remains approximately 55A, from noload to maximum loading conditions. Dropoutvoltage at 100mA output current is significantlylower than its bipolar counterpart: 130mV for theAIC1721-5/1721D-5, and 180mV for theAIC1721/ 1721D. Output current limiting andthermal limiting are built in to provide maximalprotection to the AIC1721/ 1721D against faultconditions.While pin-to-pin
