The GL811E is an ultra-compatible, high performance USB 2.0 to ATA/ATAPI bridge controller that integrates Genesys Logic's own UTMI (USB 2.0 Transceiver Macrocell Interface) transceiver design.
A single chip solution that complies with Universal Serial Bus specification rev. 2.0 and ATA/ATAPI-6 specification rev 1.0, the GL811E supports various kinds of ATA/ATAPI devices. Compliance with USB Storage Class specification ver.1.0 (Bulk only protocol) enables the GL811E to support not only plug-and-play but also Windows XP/2000/ME default drivers.

The GL811E uses 12 MHz crystal and slew-rate controlled pads to reduce the EMI issue. With 48-pin LQFP and 64-pin TQFP packages, the GL811E is the ideal cost/performance solution for design in the USB 2.0 high-speed, storage class applications such as USB 2.0 external Hard Drive, CD-R/RW, DVD-ROM, and DVD+-RW.
