M2901

The M2901 is designed as one kind of voltage controlled oscillators PECL with ECLPS complementary output. It provide complementary ECL outputs through 175MHz with extremely fast rise and fall times. Each oscillator is computer tuned and computer tested to guarantee stability and frequency pull at 0, 25 and 70°C. All oscillators will capture the rated pull at all operating temperatures. This ECLPS VCXO is the most advanced fixed frequency types. It is based on the same logic as our M2900s fixed frequency oscillators, and therefore exhibit identical waveform characteristics. The thru-hole VCXO is designed for compatibility with digital and communications systems based on the ECLPS family of high speed ECL logic.

It has seven features. (1)Used in sonet ST33 interface for generation of the transmitter data clock. (2)Will drive standard interface chips in complementary ECL. (3)Duty Cycle is typically 48/52. (4)Three frequency deviation choices. (5)Output is ECL with typical rise and fall times of 225ps. (6)Exceptional linearity with deviation sensitivity ratio not exceeding 2.0. (7)Package is choice of double DIL, standard DIL with 7 pins (M1) or low profile (L1). Those are all the main features.

Some important specifications have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (2)Its input voltage would be min 4.5V and typ 5.0V and max 5.5V. (3)Its input current including load current of both outputs woul be 60mA at 4.5V and would be 68mA at 5.0V and would be 76mA at 5.5V. (4)Its output low level voltage would be typ 3.2V and max 3.37V. (5)Its output high level voltage would be min 4.02V and typ 4.1V. (6)Its symmetry differential would be typ 48/52 and max 45/55. (7)Its input impedance would be min 50kohms and typ 1000kohms. (8)Its control voltage bandwidth would be min 10kHz and typ 20kHz. (9)Its frequency stability control voltage would be min 0V and typ 0.5V to 4.5V and max 15V. And so on.
