S-4630A

The S-4630A is designed as a CMOS thermal print head driver containing a 64-bit shift register and a latch. It can be easily used for general purpose because "H" or "L" can be selected for the driver enable and the latch is fixed to "L". It is ideal for the thermal print head of 200 dpi or 8 dots/mm because of its driver output pad pitch of 110um.

S-4630A has seven features. (1)Low current consumption 0.4ma typ (fCLK=5MHz, SI: fixed). (2)High speed operation 7MHz chip and 5MHz cascade connection. (3)Driver output voltage is 36V max. (4)Driver output current is 9mA max. (5)64-bit shift register and latch are built in. (6)Driver enable. (7)Driver-off function when supply voltage falls. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of S-4630A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.4V to 7V. (2)Its driver output voltage would be 36V. (3)Its driver output current would be 15mA. (4)Its input voltage would be from Vss0-0.5V to Vdd+0.5V. (5)Its output voltage would be from Vss0-0.5V to Vdd+0.5V. (6)Its max junction temperature would be 125°C. (7)Its operating temperature range would be from -10°C to 80°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of S-4630A are concluded as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be min 4.5V and typ 5.0V and max 5.5V. (2)Its high level input voltage would be min 0.7Vdd and max Vdd. (3)Its low level input voltage would be min Vss and max 0.3Vss. (4)Its high level output voltage would be min 4.45V.
