Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) was established in December 1994, which headquarters is located in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan. VIS is a leading specialty IC foundry service provider. They focus much attention on technology development and production efficiency improvement. They offer their customers cost-effective solutions and high value-added services. VIS has founded sales offices in Taiwan and the United States to provide on-site technical and logistical support. They also set up sales representatives in Israel, Germany, Korea, Hong Kong and China to better serve the worldwide customers.

In 1999, VIS started to work as a subcontractor for TSMC for the manufacturing of logic and mixed signal products. The next year, they announced its plan to transform from a DRAM manufacturer into a foundry service provider. In 2004, they became a pure-play foundry company.
