Hind Rectifiers Limited. [Hirect]

Established in 1958 in collaboration with Westinghouse, Brake & Signal, U.K. Hind Rectifiers Ltd., Hirect is professional in developing, designing, manufacturing and marketing Power Semiconductors, Power Electronic Equipments and Railway Transportation Equipments.Hirect shifted the activities to the present location of 20,000sq. Meters campus at Bhandup, Mumbai in 1959-60. It was imported from Westinghouse Brake & signal Co. Ltd. UK in the year 1966. In early 70's, it starts to produce equipments such as battery chargers, High Voltage and High Current Rectifiers for Railway Applications. In 2001, new manufacturing facilities were build up in Bhandup, Mumbai for manufacturing 25 KVA invertor to 180 KVA convertor for Indian Railways.

For years'management, Hirect has established considerable expertise in area of Electronics, Railway Transportation, Power, Telecommunication and core sector industries like steel, non-ferrous metals, cement, chemicals, metal finishing and a host of other industries and has gotten good reputation for its products. The Company has signed a technical collaboration agreement with M/s. Transtechnik, GmbH of Germany and M/s. Transtechnik will design and develop auxiliary converters for Traction application as per Indian Railway's specifications.M/s. Transtechnik is famous in Europe who is professional in auxiliary converters for Traction application with more than 20 years experience while having built and supplied 2000 convertors worldwide. Their customers include ALSTHOM, Stolec, Bombardiar and Siemens and product range consists of DC to DC, DC to AC, AC to AC and AC to DC convertors from 2kA upto 400kA.
