Founded in 1962, Vishay is a leading manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components which are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment including the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical markets. Vishay has developed sales offices worldwide and established manufacturing plants in China and five other Asian countries, Europe, and America.

Vishay started as the manufacturer of foil resistors and strain gages and had grown as the world's leading manufacturer of these products. From then on, Vishay began to carry out a series of strategic acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronic components. Vishay finished the acquisition of selected discrete semiconductor and module product lines from International Rectifier® in 2007.
